Fully Managed Service Improves Reliability and Performance of Point-of-Sale Reporting and Inventory Polling System

COSTA MESA, Calif., March 20, 2007 – MegaPath, the leading provider of Virtual Private Network (VPN) solutions and other managed IP services to businesses nationwide, today announced that Bruegger’s Enterprises, a leader in the quick, casual restaurant segment with 250 neighborhood bakery-cafés in 19 states, has standardized on MegaPath to increase the performance and reliability of its restaurant Point-of-Sale (POS) and Polling applications.  Additionally, the company is leveraging the MegaPath network to deliver WiFi access to its customers.

With the improved bandwidth performance and reliability offered by MegaPath, Bruegger’s Enterprises is now able to poll all of its restaurants inventory and sales data every night, significantly increasing the company’s ability to forecast and support the requirements of its bakeries. Because MegaPath has eliminated connection issues, the new system is more reliable, with nearly 100 percent of restaurants reporting every night – up from 95 percent previously, leading to a significant increase in the accuracy of the company’s real-time inventory and sales statistics.  This is also improving the responsiveness of Bruegger’s Enterprises’ supply chain, by enabling the restaurants to submit orders in real time and reducing the lag time between orders and deliveries.
