MegaPath Announces Enhancements to its Award-Winning Unified Communications Service

Pleasanton, Calif. – March 16, 2015 – MegaPath Cloud Services, a division of MegaPath, today announced a series of feature enhancements to its award-winning Unified Communications (UC) service including SMS Text Messaging and Device Handover. These functional improvements further enable MegaPath customers to easily and instantly connect with customers, partners and colleagues in a variety of ways.

The updates to MegaPath's Unified Communications solution include:

  • SMS Text Messaging – Users can send SMS texts within the UC desktop and mobile clients using their business VoIP phone number instead of their personal mobile number. SMS Texting is integrated with the company's directory, so users can easily send and receive individual and group texts across all of their devices.
  • Device Handover from Mobile to Desktop UC Clients – MegaPath's UC customers can seamlessly move a call from one device to another (i.e., desktop to mobile), avoiding the need to hang up and call back. This feature supports today's highly-mobile workforce, in particular, on-the-go employees that switch between using desktop and mobile devices throughout the day.
  • Voice Manager Integration – Users can now access the Voice Manager tool from within the MegaPath UC client. Voice Manager is a convenient mobility tool that enables Hosted Voice users to listen to voicemails, read transcribed voicemails, manage greetings, manage audio conferences, configure custom profiles, and easily manage call routing and other settings on the fly.

MegaPath UC is available as an add-on to MegaPath's Hosted Voice service. The combined solution integrates IP voice telephony capabilities with more than 50 calling and mobility features, as well as enhanced collaboration features such as presence, instant messaging, screen sharing, video conferencing and SMS texting.
