How to Set Up Instant Group Call

Instant Group Call allows the administrator to configure up to 20 distinct telephone numbers that will be automatically dialed by the system and added to an instant conference call every time a user calls the associated telephone number. Valid telephone numbers include internal extensions as well as all domestic, 10-digit telephone numbers. For external telephone numbers, long-distrance charges may apply at our standard long-distance rate. Instant Group Call can also be used with Push to Talk to simulate an internal paging solution.

Instructions below for Instant Group Call apply to the following phone models:
Polycom SoundPoint IP 321/330/335/650/670
Cisco SPA 303G/504G/509G/525G
Linksys SPA 942/962

To use Instant Group Call your Company Site Administrator must first configure the following settings in the Web Portal.

Instant Group Call ID: This is assigned by MegaPath. Please do not change this or your Instant Group Call may cease to function.

Name, Calling Line ID First/Last Name, Department. These items are configured by MegaPath. To make changes please contact MegaPath support.

Enable Maximum Call Time for Unanswered Calls

  • Unchecked: Instant Group Call will ring all configured telephone numbers until they are answered.
  • Checked: Instant Group Call will ring all configured telephone numbers until they are answered or until the maximum number of specified minutes has been reached.

Phone number / SIP-URI

  1. Enter the extension or 10-digit telephone number you wish to add to the Instant Group Call and click Add.
  2. The number entered will show up under the Phone Number / SIP-URI list (below the text box).
  3. Repeat Steps 1 & 2 for up to 20 numbers.
  4. Click OK or Apply to save your settings.

How to Initiate a Standard Instant Group Call

  1. Dial the Instant Group Call telephone number or extension (provided by the Administrator)
  2. Wait for all participants to answer, and begin your group call.
  3. Hang up to end the call.

How to Use Group Paging Functionality

Every Instant Group Call service has an associated Direct Dial telephone number. This number may be dialed from anywhere inside or outside the company. Selective Call Acceptance and Selective Call Rejection services are included with every Instant Group Call service, that way customers can restrict caller access. These services are configured in exactly the same manner as configured for a single user.
